Crunchy French Toast

  • 3 whole eggs
  • 1/4 Cup 1/2 & 1/2
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 Cup sugar
  • 4 slices bread
  • 1 Cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 stick melted butter
  • Softened butter & maple syrup for serving.


In a pie pan whisk together eggs, 1/2 & 1/2, vanilla, half the sugar and half the cinnamon. In another pie pan mix Panko crumbs with rest of sugar & cinnamon. In a large frypan melt the butter. One at a time dunk the bread in egg mixture, turning to coat. Then do the same in the Panko crumbs. Place them in the skillet and cook one side 5-6 minutes. Watch so they don't burn. Turn and cook additional 3 minutes or until browned. Serve with melted butter and syrup.
